As the Accounting Assistant, you will be asked to provide administrative support and may also advise senior Accountants in relation to the company’s overall accounting process. In all probability, you will be working under a senior Accountant or someone in a similar position of authority within the firm. Other responsibilities are as follows:Prepare statutory accounts.Calculate and check to make sure payments, amounts, and records are correct.Sort out incoming and outgoing daily post and answer any queries.Manage petty cash transactions.Control credit and chasing debt.Reconcile finance accounts and direct debits.File compliance documents with necessary government units.Maintain accounting records by making copies and filing documents.Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.Maintain accounting databases by entering data into the computer and processing backups.Verify financial reports by running performance analysis software program.Determine value of depreciable assets by running depreciation software program.Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Competency in MS Office applications, databases, and accounting softwares.
Data entry and word processing skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Aptitude for numbers.
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
Well organized.
